There is Always Hope

Elsa-Jean-Photography-for-glooart-4Budding indigenous models with heart-wrenching pasts step up as symbols of strength to aboriginal and non-aboriginal girls and women, with the message that you can overcome; that there is always hope.  Part of an international leadership program affiliated with the IF Foundation, eight young women and five elders from across the four Pilbara Shires in Australia attended New York Fashion Week last September where, at an event by Australian designer Betty Tran, they met Creative Director of Savoir Faire Cosmetics, Simone Lee, who, inspired by these girls and deeply touched by their story, worked with Fashion Advocate to spearhead a shoot with them back on Aussie soil in her down-time over Christmas break.  With GlooArt’s Elsa Jean taking the photos and Jasmine Bailey-Barfuss editing the images half a world away in San Francisco, the cross-country charitable collaboration turned up something quite stunning – the feeling that there really is hope.

Beauty Biz Magazine picked up the story this month.
